FIELD GUIDE 09 / 15

Schedule a daily Slack channel update

Choose the send time, timezone, and task sections for a daily team summary in the linked Slack channel.

Product guide 3 sections

Set up the daily update

  1. 01Connect Slack in Settings if it is not already installed.
  2. 02As a team owner, open the team page's management menu and choose Slack Channel. Link the destination channel.
  3. 03In the channel settings, turn on Send a daily digest.
  4. 04Choose the local send time and timezone.
  5. 05Select at least one section: tasks due today, overdue tasks, in-progress and update-requested tasks, or tasks completed since the previous digest.
  6. 06Choose Save settings. Use Preview to inspect the summary or Send test to post a test message.

What the message contains

The digest includes task titles, status, priority, due dates, assignee names, and task links. Task descriptions, comments, and attachments are not included. Everyone who can read the destination channel can read the summary; choose that channel with the team's privacy needs in mind.

Delivery behavior

  • Updates are scheduled at the selected local time and timezone.
  • If you enable it after the send time for today, the first update is scheduled shortly after saving.
  • The first digest looks back over the previous 24 hours; later digests use the previous scheduled run.
  • Empty digests are skipped. The team page shows the last scheduled run and any reported delivery error.
  • For visible background job failures, check the company console. Owners and admins can retry eligible jobs marked dead; retry does not guarantee successful delivery.
Keep in mind
Saving a schedule does not prove delivery. General reminder/email/digest workers are not verified enabled on the published app; Slack command processing is a separate worker. Use Preview first. Send test posts a real message and should only be used with the channel's agreement. If nothing arrives, check the last-run status and ask the company owner rather than repeatedly sending tests.
